August 21- Staff meeting, then broke into our 6 communities. As a community, we looked at the 6 required actions and discussed how the data team can contribute.

June 2012
June 5--Results of the assessment were presented to the faculty. They showed that although our students have adequate grasp of vocabulary (probably as a result of an emphasis on that particular skill during the last CSI process), they have deficits in the two higher levels of critical reading skills.

May 2012

May 31--Local Reading Assessment was given to all students during seminar. Data team and other volunteers transferred students' reponses to a series of Excel files and sent them to Dr. Debus, who is in charge of data at the district office.
May 18--Data committee gave a report on the upcoming Reading Comprehension Assessment--a 30-question multiple-choice assessment that checks vocabulary, understanding of main ideas and organization, and drawing inferences. Procedures for distributing, administering, collecting, analyzing data, and reporting options were reviewed.

May 17: CSILT (comprised in part by members of the Data team) met all day to discuss the progress of the Reading Comprehension test and to begin refining the writing goal by the same method as was used with the critical reading goal. The committee decided to reword our schools statement of goals from "critical reading and writing skills" to "writing and critical reading skills" to clarify that our focus will be on writing skills in general.

May 15: "Next Steps" full faculty meeting discussed and solidified the duties and contact information for all committes, including Data.

March 2012:
March 27--CSILT full-day meeting--We met to refine our critical reading goal, schedule a series of assessments to track our progress, and prepare to align the assessments as closely as possible with those stated goals. Data team members participated in the discussion and were tasked with producing a series of 30-item assessments of critical reading skills. The first will be given in May, 2012, to field-test the assessment itself and demonstrate the school's commitment to the process. The second will be given in September, 2012, as a baseline for the 2012-2013 year. The third will be given in early 2013.

CSI Local Assessment Team (CSILT) Meeting Mon. March 12, 2012--This committee, which includes Data team members, discussed possible assessments that would address local needs. At this point, discussion was wide-ranging, but we laid the foundation for a full-day meeting to be held on March. 27, with representatives from all disciplines, to narrow the reading goal and develop an assessment which would match the skills mentioned on both pre- and post-tests.
